Part-time Utility Billing Clerk/Assistant to Tax Collector – Hardyston Township
Hardyston Township is seeking applicants for a part-time utility billing clerk & assistant to the tax collector. Duties will include; general office support and clerical work such as answering phones, filing, processing water/sewer utility and property tax payments, directing utility customer calls for service and complaints, preparation of minutes and agendas for the HTMUA Commissioners, and responding to Open Public Records Act requests. Must be able to multi-task effectively and work efficiently in a high activity work environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a must. Candidate must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, local officials and the general public. Must be proficient in modern business computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with municipal finance software and tax/utility software preferred but not required. Basic knowledge and understanding of municipal operations and tax collection a plus. Position will require approximately 28 hours per week. Monthly attendance at least one meeting required. Hourly salary range – $18-$22/hour, commensurate based on experience and qualifications.
