NOTICE – 6/24/20 – THE CURRENT PROCEDURE OF OBTAINING A FIRE CERTIFICATE FOR SALES AND RENTALS IN HARDYSTON AND HAMBURG WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR. NO HOME INSPECTIONS WILL BE DONE.

Smoke Detector/Carbon Monoxide Inspections
Inspections are good for 6 months and must be done prior to closing – no exceptions. A $500.00 fine for no certificate will be levied.

***IF THE INSPECTION FAILS, A NEW INSPECTION FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND A NEW FEE IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL FEE WILL BE CHARGED***

AS OF 9/14/2020 – FIRE CERTIFICATION FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
$45.00 – MORE THAN 10 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO CLOSING
$90.00 – 4-10 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO CLOSING
$161.00 – LESS THAN 4 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO CLOSING
These are the normal “inspection fees” and will now be applied to Fire Certifications as well. NO EXCEPTIONS

Blasting Permits
The fee for a blasting permit is $42.00. An updated copy of Certificate of Liability Insurance must be provided along with a copy of the license.

Bonfire Permits
Are available upon request. Open Burning Permits are available at the Department of Forestry located at 240 Main Street, Andover, NJ 07821. Please contact 973-786-6350 for information.

Applications for both Smoke Detector/Carbon Monoxide Inspections and Blasting Permits are available at the Municipal Building.
